Salmon Fishing

Adjacent to Holmen Gård are some of the best fishing zones in the Verdalselva, and the farm has traditionally been a starting point for salmon fishing way back in time. Salmon fishing is offered both as organized fishing and through the sale of salmon fishing licencesThe fishery has been known for good catches, but the river, like other waterways, has noticed that the situation for wild salmon has worsened in recent years. Active efforts are being made to build up a satisfactory spawning stock. A very important contribution to this work was the construction of a salmon ladder in Granfossen in 1990.
